Our sitting volleyball program is in its sixth year, and already our athletes have taken the initial program beyond our wildest dreams, with three athletes who have been exposed to the sport through our program making our Sitting National Team.

Note: Postponed at this time due to COVID. Please stay tuned for updates.

What is Sitting Volleyball?

It is the Paralympic version of volleyball for athletes with a movement impairment.   It is competed in the Paralympics (Men?s and Women?s) Para Pan Am Games and Invictus Games (Co-Ed) (Wounded warriors – also includes mental impairment such as PTSD)  Became an official sport in 1976 and joined the Paralympics in 1980.  There is a functional ability classification system below the national level, however everyBODY can play.   The ‘everyBODY’  term was created by ParaSport Ontario to denote persons at all ages and stages of life. Including persons with physical, intellectual, sensory, medical, emotional, congenital, neurological or other issues where particular attention may help them get the most out of the activity, sport or program.

If you are between the ages of 11-25 and interested in trying something new, we look forward to having you join us.  Please contact Janet Cairns at [email protected]
