2021 Durham Attack Club Award

Recipients Deborah Nash & Jocelyn Stanat

The Durham Attack Club Award is given to an athlete in their last year of play who has been with Durham Attack for a number of years. This award is given to players whose attitude and behaviour exemplifies the highest levels of sportsmanship, athleticism and overall strength of character. They have been outstanding members of the Club and this award recognizes their contribution to the club over a period of years.

Deborah Nash

Deborah has been with Durham Attack for many years. She is always one of the hardest working players on her team. Her enthusiasm is contagious with the rest of the girls and she continually leads by example. Deb always has the whole team in mind when it comes to practices and games. She is a great teammate and a vocal leader on and off the court. She will often come to practice with baking and snacks for the team as she is continuously thinking of others more than herself. Deb is always the first on the court to demonstrate skills and drills and is always asking how she can improve her game. Often she will be found crashing into score tables or court medians trying to recover a ball that no one thought could be saved, but Deb is always determined. Her drive and no quit attitude will take her far in both volleyball and life. The sky’s the limit for Deb! This is why Deb is deserving of the Durham Attack Club Award. Congratulations Deb!

Jocelyn Stanat

Jocelyn brings a great attitude to every event including practices, games and social gatherings. She is incredibly encouraging of all her teammates and wants them to succeed just as much, if not more, than herself. Joceyln has given everything she has both in the gym and as a leader in coaching. Her desire to share her passion for the game to younger players is truly remarkable. She plays bigger than she is and does not shy away from any opponent! Joceyln is a quick learner and always looking for ways to improve herself and her game play. She is disciplined, driven and leads by example. Joceyln has always been one to carry herself with the highest level of sportsmanship, athleticism and brilliant personal character! The Durham Attack Executive is confident Jocelyn will achieve great things in the years ahead and is very deserving of this Award! Congratulations Joceyln.
